You’re   Engaged!

….or maybe you’re just wanting photos of the two of you! Regardless, I’ve got you covered and made this guide to help you prepare for your photoshoot.

What to expect

Sessions are super chill and laid back. Free flowing with a bit of creativity. It’s a great time for us to hang out and get to know each other. I get a great sense of your style as a couple before the wedding day.

You may be nervous at first but we will break through that and create some awesome memories together. At the end of the session we will be friends, you will be used to having a camera around you, and you will have about 100-200 new images of the two of you.

Scheduling and Time

Sessions usually last about 1.5 to 2 hrs. We can move fast or slow, what ever speed you are comfortable with. We will walk around a lot and see what we can discover together. Most sessions are done during the weekdays but we can always figure out the best date to make it happen.

I prefer to shoot about two hrs before sunset for the best light. We can also adjust this to fit your schedule and will still make epic images!

Scheduling your date for the session should be about 5-6 months out from the wedding if you want to use the images for save the dates. My editing for these sessions typically takes about 1-2 weeks.

Location’s

The location for your session can be anywhere! We will make it work. From your home, favorite bookstore, an epic hike. I can shoot anywhere and am often influenced by the light, scene, and your vibe together. Choose a unique location that is important to the two of you.

Think about places that have an influence on you as a couple. Make it as personal as possible and I will take care of the rest. The best locations are always the unexpected and obscure ones that really reflects your personality.

I have flown to Iceland for an engagement session. So, nothing is off the books for what we can create and shoot.

Outfits

Definitely be you! This is more of a suggestion than a preferred thing. This is a reflection of you and your personality.

I recommend staying away with heavy patterns. sticking with two outfits for the session is ideal. If you want to bring more, thats totally cool, but just keep in mind that impacts time we will have to work together.

Generally, I suggest to dress more casually than you will on your wedding day. These photos are all about you as a couple. If you want to be fancy, we can totally nail that too. Just keep in mind the location needs to stay up to par with that.
